I have to send a note of Thank you for the wonderful cheese steaks! I lived in Philadelphia for a year through college and I am the child of 2 long time Philly residents, so I have spent many years and vacations in Philadelphia enjoying hoagies, scrapple, tasty cakes, and most of all cheese steaks. I did not truly realize how wonderful cheese steaks were until I lived in Philly for a year and was able to eat them at any given moment. I am a Chicago resident and as I am sure you know it is virtually impossible to get a good cheese steak any where but Philly. This year was a true test for me... I am 9 months pregnant and the only thing that I have craved through my pregnancy was Philly Cheese Steaks! Both my husband and I are employees of Allied Van lines ( the moving company) and in an effort to fulfill my crazy pregnant cravings, my husband actually called one of our many agents in the area to see if he could buy us some cheese steaks and ship them or meet him on his next business trip so he could bring them home for me. Obviously they would not last on a business trip, so our agent searched you guys out on the internet and sent some cheese steaks our way in Chicago. I actually received the package at work and was almost brought to tears. I was so excited!!! This was the only thing that I really wanted to eat during my whole pregnancy and I finally had it. It was the best gift that I had received during my pregnancy. I went home that evening and savored the best food that the God's have ever created... a true Philly Cheese Steak!
 

I have to say thank you for the cheese steak and the website, I now know where to go next time I really need a taste of Philly!

After four straight 18 hour days fighting the "Love Letter" computer virus, I needed some real sleep and something other than 1am microwaved pasta. There wasn't much in my kitchen and what qualifies as takeaway shops here in Switzerland are generally not open on Sunday. In fact, nothing is open here on Sunday's except for overpriced convenience stores in the main train stations and they close at 10pm. What I really craved last Sunday night was a cheesesteak. Despite being proximate to great French food and wine, it's tough to surpress those atavistic urges of booing the crap out of the Phillies/Eagles/Mike Schmidt and eating a late night "cheesesteak with."

I had surfed Philly-Food's web site over a year ago but my crazy work schedule kept getting in the way. With this recent nighttime craving, another co-worker recently asking me how to get Tastykakes shipped here, and some workers introducing their native recipes for company picnics, it seemed like a good opportunity to introduce the European palates to the joy of a "Cheese With." Having finished a cheesesteak on a perfect Amoroso roll this evening, I am now debating the wisdom of sharing my goodies with my co-workers tommorrow.

The TastyKakes arrived in perfect shape and were absolutely fresh but here was the real surpise - the pretzels. Anyone who is from Philly knows that you're looking for a quick trip to the dentist if you eat a pretzel after 1pm or get those "bargain" $1 bags being sold after the game down at The Vet. If there was a miracle in the world today, it was a rack of soft pretzels arriving in perfect condition after a 36 hour transatlantic journey through France and Switzerland. It was with regret that only a handful of these beauties survived the attack by my co-workers this afternoon and made it safely back to the fridge tonight.

A couple cans of Black Cherry Wishniak while reading the Daily News and Inky on the train home today from Geneva Airport completes the scene. The boxes arrived in pristine condition, expertly packed, and online tracking provided details for the entire journey. The package made it through Swiss Customs fully approved with only a small amount of tax assessed. It had to be a a strange and wonderful trip for the Tastykakes, steaks, rolls, pretzels, and soda on their first and last tour of Europe - I can vouch that footing the bill for their plane ride was worth every centime.

I cannot express in mere words the joy upon the discovery of your website, upon which I stumbled purely by accident. As a transplanted native Philadelphian now living in the Deep South where they say things like, "Do you want your Italian subs with MAYONNAISE?" (are they crazy?), the discovery of Philly Foods was a blessing from Heaven. Long ago, I gave up any hope of EVER tasting another Philly hoagie or cheese steak or pizza or soft pretzel. Now, though, you've
renewed my hope for nostalgic hedonism by providing the most soul-satisfying website for foodies on the Internet.

We received your custom-crafted Philly Food hoagies today with more delight than the birth of our firstborn. The packaging, the attention to detail, the TASTE, the drool-factor, the little touches were all simply just this short of Divine.
You have no idea the delight I took in introducing my Philistine New Englander husband to a REAL Philly hoagie. He was almost catatonic with delight.

Habbersette's scrapple is the ambrosia of Philadelphia carnivores and is not to be taken lightly. Pretenders should be shot at sunrise (okay, an exaggeration): There is NO scrapple that even remotely compares. All I can say (as if the above were not enough) is THANK YOU, PHILLY FOOD! You've made this lady very happy indeed. Plus, you now have a convert (my husband) who came from a thoroughly de classe` New England town. And, since the package was delivered at an opportune time, can you guess what the first thing was that we ate today? No second guess counts! The pork roll was as delicious as I remember it, and the next adventure delivered to the west coast will be a few hoagies and steaks in the next order. Please expect another order in the immediate future. There is no comparison between sourdough and Amoroso... need I say more?

I must say that the the entire process was a pleasure. You have a class and professional organization and have added a personal touch to an already welcome arrival. A very good online friend who lives in Pennsylvania sent me and my family a combination of Philly Food that arrived on the 4th and 5th of January. He and I have never met in person, by the way.

We live in Missouri and he sent us a combination of packages from your menu. We have never had Food from Philly ever and I must tell you that it was special and very good. Those ROLLS wow. We received 3 Hoagies and 3 Cheese steaks and a box of 6 of each kind of Tastykakes.

Just wanted to let you know that brother Tom received the Italian hoagies along with the pretzels and Tastycakes. He was absolutely thrilled and couldn't believe it.
Tom called me with a critque and said it was so thick he had to nibble at it because he couldn't fit the hoagie in his mouth-it was so big! He was impressed with the way it was packaged and well preserved. "Very fresh, juicy and delicious" were his words over and over again.
Tom compared the Philly Foods Italian hoagie with his favorite which was made at a place called Dino's in Margate City. He said the flavor and substance was just as good and even slightly better than Dino's.

Just so you know, these were the first hoagies that didn't have squishy bread, and had the sharp cheese that we enjoy! I'm not a philly gourmet, but my homesick fiancee, Gus, is South Philly born and raised and was delighted with the quality of your product.
I might offer a suggestion - maybe a Philly delight package with a pretzel, hoagie, cheese steak, tasty cake and one of those weird sodas my west coast palette doesn't understand. It would be the perfect "smile" for my Gus. I know you have packages with hoagies, steaks, and tasty cakes, but I think I have to order each individually.
